Town & Country Ltd is one of the oldest and most respected companies in the Douglas Shire, enjoying a reputation for sound business principles and community involvement.

The trading history of the company shows involvement in many industries, some of which were pioneered by Town & Country Ltd in the region. Today the major primary business focus is on Hardware and Commercial Property management.

Town & Country Home Timber & Hardware operates from the pre-eminent commercial site in Mossman. As part of the Home group the store is able to offer a huge product range, at value for money prices, with the added benefits of promotion that stem from a national buying group.

The Town & Country Shopping Centre is our major commercial property. This centre boasts national tenants including Woolworths, Dick Smith Electronics, Raine & Horne and Video 2000. Pecorino’s Café, Pioneer Permanent Building Society and Mossman Hotel Bottleshop complete the tenancy list.

As an employer Town & Country Ltd has 30 staff members. Being one of the major employers in the area brings certain responsibilities. Town & Country Ltd has supported the Indigenous Employment Support Program and numerous young adults with employment and training. Further, the Board and Management have philosophy to support all worthwhile calls for assistance from community organizations. We view it as an investment in our Community.

The 2005 year is shaping as an exciting one for Town & Country Ltd. We are exploring options to expand the Town & Country Shopping Centre on the existing site. We are also considering the construction of a new Hardware store in Port Douglas.
